la domanda principale, dopo l'upgrade perdiamo il root o no?  non c'è brutta sorpresa riservata da TIM ?

Io avevo il root su entrambe le bank (prima ero su bank2). Ho aggiornato il fw da GUI e mi sono ritrovato su Bank1 e sempre col root attivo.

Poi è chiaro che l'esperienza mia è soggettiva e non rappresenta la regola, però se ha funzionato per me, non vedo perché non debba funzionare altrettanto per gli altri.

La mia esperienza .... aggiornato con comando da putty, avevo 104 beta su bank1 e bank2 cancellato completamente. Adesso ho su bank1 104 beta con root. Bank2 attivo  con la 104 closed con la root attiva.

scusate la mia ignoranza ,ma a questo punto non sarebbe meglio che aggiorniamo noi a 1.0.4 da gui ,così da non poter aver sorprese da Tim ,e volendo possiamo tenere anche la telegestione attivata ,tanto è il fw closed.

Ma infatti la cosa migliore (mio consiglio personale) è assicurarsi di essere su BANK1 e usare o l'upgrade da gui di Ansuel oppure mandare in BOOTP il modem e flashare con TFTPd.

In entrambi i casi se avevate il root attivo, continuerà a rimanere tale.

Fatto l'update manualmente (mi piace vedere cosa succede in putty...)
OK sono col firmware 1.0.4 col ROOT.

Ma ho sempre questo problema che mi impedisce di connettersi a Internet in DHCP.
