ATTENZIONE CHIAVETTA USB

Chiedo scusa per il maiuscolo, non voglio gridare ma solo attirare l'attenzione.
Per il trasferimento file o script da via USB da chiavetta a "tmp" è fondamentale che la chiavetta sia piccola, 1 GB al massimo per quel che ho provato, con 4GB non ho provato, 8 GB non li vuole.
Al tempo del ritorno al firmware TIM, poi abbandonato, ho perso una giornata con la chiavetta da 16 GB prima e da 8 GB dopo salvo poi trovare da qualche parte che la chiavetta doveva essere di dimensioni ridotte.

Quanto sostieni è opinabile. A mi parere e per la mia esperienza uno che non ne sa nulla di un determinato lavoro sbaglia a non farselo fare da chi è competente. Poi se lui preferisce ostinatamente provare di testa sua e combina danni, non c'è assolutamente nulla di male, purché verso gli altri e soprattutto verso se stesso si prenda le sue responsabilità e ne subisca i danni creati.
Io ero uno di quelli che "guai farsi fare le cose dagli altri" poi, piano, piano, con l'età ho capito che forse sbagliavo, che molto spesso farmi  aiutare sarebbe stato meglio, avrebbe risolto il problema, con meno spese e soprattutto con un maggior vantaggio didattico.
Da trafficone quale ero, un po' lo sono ancora, mi sono trovato più volte con dei problemi risolti senza sapere come avessi fato a trovare la soluzione o peggio a creare dei danni senza sapere come e perché li abbia creati.
La curiosità, la voglia di imparare, la determinazione, vanno bene, l'ostinazione no.
Io valuterei sempre ed approfonditamente la difficoltà del lavoro, l'attrezzatura disponibile, l'effettiva capacità ed il tempo disponibile.
Ho imparato (quasi) a fare delle valutazioni abbastanza precise e capire quando devo chiede aiuto a chi ne sa di più.
Quanto sopra in generale, non ho nessun titolo per fare la predica a chicchessia, è solo una opinione personale come già detto.
Nel tuo caso specifico penso che tu abbia causato i danni visibili nelle foto per aver usato il saldatore troppo caldo. con le schede stampate di oggi bisogna andarci molto ma molto piano. Certi circuiti hanno piste in più strati e non è detto che rovinando la pista visibile non si vada a rovinare anche quelle sottostante.
Mi e ti auguro comunque di riuscire a risolvere il tuo problema.

Quanto dici tu, è più che giusto, ovviamente il mio discorso si applica a cose fattibili e per oggetti non costosi, per quale nel caso dovessi romperlo, non ho fatto chissà che danno...lasciando il problema, ormai risolto, della saldatura riparata e funzionante, il saldatore che ho usato, prima aveva la possibilità di regolare la temperatura ma da un po'  non lo permette più, in quanto si è guastato il regolatore di temperatura, che sia il potenziometro o qualsiasi altra cosa...
In ogni caso spero che tutto ciò che è stato fatto di sbagliato da parte mia possa servire come aiuto, per chi come me ha simili problemi, in modo da evitarli. Presto comprerò, appena potrò il nuovo saldatore, ostinarsi mai, e se dai miei post possa essere vista un po' di ostinazione, non è stata mia volontà d'altronde dopo aver fatto il "danno", ho seguito i consigli di chi ha sicuro più esperienza di me in saldature, e ciò mi ha consentito di recuperare la situazione.

Aspetto nuove dritte per quanto riguarda l'eventuale soluzione, incasinata che sia, al problema dell'overlay garantendo e sottolineando che questo problema non è stato causato dal flash del firmware UNO errato, (per altro una svista causa stanchezza) prontamente rifiutato come detto da @larsen64it ma dal flash delle versioni iinet per questo modem...

Se monti il fw originale TIM non puoi cambiare DNS: lo devi prima sbloccare seguendo la guida qui sul sito (dipende anche dalla versione dell'AGTOT).
Durante la procedra, puoi infilare i DNS che vuoi nel config prima di ricaricarlo sul modem.
NOTA: una volta riavviato il modem noterai nella sezione DNS ancora quelli telecom, anche se lui sta usando i tuoi.

Tutto questo poco tempo fa con le versioni 1.0.4 e 1.0.6 non so se sia cambiato qualcosa.

Con la 1.0.6 almeno fino ad un paio di mesi fa non è cambiato praticamente nulla....ma c'è una guida separata in quanto le chiavi di de/ricriptazione sono cambiate (sono uguali alla versione 1.0.4).
La procedura di sostituzione DNS rimane la stessa, alla voce dnss.ini.
Mi viene in mente che qui si dovrebbe parlare di iiNet e di UNO. Io non ho problemi.

La dritta che ti hanno dato in Australia funziona. In pratica bisogna forzare il router a fargli credere del mancato caricamento del fw e per 3 volte in modo da switchare su bank 1.  Al boot pigia il tasto di accensione senza rilasciarlo, nel momento che ti compare nella seriale il montaggio dell 'overlay  (che per te coincide con il momento del blocco) :

rilascia il tasto di accensione e ripigialo immediatamente. Si dovrebbe riavviare mostrandoti  "boot bank2 attempt 2". Se riesci a trovare i tempi giusti è abbastanza automatico per poter  ripetere l'operazione 3 volte e switchare su bank1.

Cavolo avevi anche la bank1 corrotta. Io metterei UNO .rbi sempre con seriale attiva per vedere se carica bene. Attenzione se bootta la bank2, cerca di switchare subito come sopra. Una volta che vedi che bootta in bank1 lascialo andare ed aspetta anche parecchio fino a quando non vedi il led diventare rosso. A quel punto aspetta  l'accendersi dei leds wifi e lan.  Aspetta ancora un poco e se non ti fa accedere alla web GUI resetta con il tasto. Al ravvio dovresti poter accedere.

Occhio c'è la possibilità che ti abbia flashato la bank2.
Se fa il boot su bank2 e ti appare la scritta:

vuol dire che ha flashato UNO su bank2. Lascialo avviare normalmente e vediamo se si riesce a resettare.

EDIT1:
Modem sbloccato, ora sono con UNO su bank1 e iinet 2.2.1 su bank2.
In serata spiego creando una guida, come ho sbloccato precisamente il modem, in modo che se qualcuno dovesse trovarsi nelle stesse condizioni possa, uscirne facilmente ed in pochissimo tempo, e non dopo una settimana!
Grazie alle persone che mi hanno aiutato @larsen64it , in particolare che mi ha seguito sia su questo forum sia sul forum dell'Australia, informandomi della procedura da loro proposta, in italiano ed in modo chiaro.
