DESCRIPTION

DynDNS Updater is an utility, which can be used to
automatically update your IP address database on DynDNS
server. Updating your IP address is required to maintain
your dynamic domain name so it still can be reachable.

DynDNS Updater version 3 contains many features that make
updating your hostname very easy.

By default, DynDNS Updater version 3 only supports
DynDNS.org. If you want to enable the multi service
providers support, create an entry IsDynDNS=0 inside
[Options] section of dyndns.ini file. If you do that, your
dyndns.ini file will look like:

COMPATIBILITY ISSUES

DynDNS Updater can be run as service. The service will be
installed with the following dependencies: DHCP Client,
Remote Access Connection Manager, and Workstation. If you
are using Windows NT 4 and using LAN connection, you may not
have Remote Access Connection Manager installed. In this
case, you can just delete the dependencies to Remote Access
Connection Manager by editing the Windows registry.

L' aggiornamento del DDNS riferito a www.ddydns.org ...
Ci sono tre modalità di uso del dyndns ... se hai scelto la prima e se l' IP che ti assegna il provider cambia il tuo "Miiohost.ddydns.org" non è più raggiungibile se non utilizzi il programma di aggiornamento automatico e con Alice di Telecom ultimamente il cambio di IP avviene anche 2-3 volte in un giorno come se spegnessi e riaccendessi il router. Vai nel sito e leggi attentamente così capirai. Con il Firmware USR l' IP assegnato dal provider non cambia nemmeno se spegni per pochi minuti il modem ... con il Samba alla riaccensione è sicuramente cambiato.
